Cascabel — Terms of Use

Effective date: October 17, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Yabin Alejandro Lagunes Cuevas, trading as The Alchemist Code ("we", "us"), the publisher of Cascabel ("the app") and of its link pages at cascabel.alekla.com. By using them you accept these terms. If you don't, please don't use them.

1. What Cascabel does

Cascabel draws names for a Secret Santa (gift exchange) and creates a private link for each participant. The organizer keeps everything on their phone and sends the links themselves, with the messaging app they choose.

2. Your content

You are responsible for the names, gift hints, messages and wish lists you write, and for having the participants' permission to include their names. Don't write content that is illegal, that harasses or threatens anyone, or that you wouldn't want the recipient of a link to read.

3. Free features and Premium

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Premium is sold through Google Play on Android and the App Store on iPhone, under their terms:

5. Acceptable use

Don't try to get around ads, payments or the app's limits; don't copy, resell, reverse engineer or scrape the app or its link pages, except where the law allows it; and don't use the link pages to send content to people who didn't agree to take part.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, the drawn bell and the card designs belong to The Alchemist Code. The Instrument Serif and Geist typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app and the link pages handle.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app and the link pages are provided "as is". We do our best to keep the link pages online, but we don't guarantee they will always be available; if a link doesn't open, the organizer can use See it on this phone. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential damages, or for gifts, budgets or arrangements between participants. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have as a consumer under laws that cannot be waived.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted at this address with a new date.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live, and in Mexico you may also go to PROFECO (Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor).
